Motorcyclists for Kids Toy Ride – WHIZ

ZANESVILLE, OH- Today marked the 28th annual Motorcyclists for Kids Toy Ride at Walmart North in Zanesville. Bikers gathered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to support a cause that has been a cornerstone of the community for nearly three decades.

Over the years the toy ride has grown significantly. The very first ride, 28 years ago, saw only six bikers participate in snowy conditions. Today the turnout reflects just how much this tradition has expanded.

“We’re here at Walmart North, we’re up here watching the bikes roll in and the community come together and the reason why we put this on once a year is to help the underprivileged children in this area, Zanesville, Muskingum County, to make sure that they have a Christmas this season,” said Rushing Wind Biker Church Pastor, Michael McGuire.

The bikers departed at 1:15 p.m. to take all of their collected toys and monetary donations to the Salvation Army.

“It’s nice to be able and work with and volunteer with other people, you know the things you won’t see, all of the time and effort and money put into this event to be able to once again bless the other children and to help them have a wonderful Christmas this season,” said McGuire.

The Motorcyclists for Kids Toy Ride will return next year on Saturday, November 1, 2025, helping to ensure that the spirit of giving remains alive in Muskingum County for another year.
